Ozma – Pasadena

Ozma is a rock band from Pasadena, California. The band's sound is a mix of new-wave–influenced power pop and rock with Casiotone-driven melodies and heavy guitar riffs. The complexity of Ozma's songs grew considerably during the band's initial nine-year history, and after their split in 2004 they announced their reformation in early 2006. “Pasadena” is Ozma’s fourth full length and their first release since their recent reunion. Despite the lack of a real record label and adequate funding “Pasadena” is the best stuff this band has recorded yet. From first listen the CD seems to stray from their older style but once formally listened to it is clear that this is the same old Ozma. These songs perfectly capture the wonderful satisfaction that Ozma brings to all it’s fans, just the right amount of electronic sound effects and hard-edged guitar to make for the perfect musical blend. “Pasadena” features two previously released songs, “No One Needs To Know” and “Eponine”, along with nine new songs, the best of which are all of them. Their website is currently streaming the full album.

Coparck – The 3rd Album

Coparck is a Dutch rock band from Amsterdam. Coparck has been around for a while, unleashing their mix of melodic, eclectic indie-pop. A jazzed-up post-rock style layered with samples and old synthesizer sounds. “The 3rd Album” is full of extremely accessible songs that are equally melodic and catchy as strange and somewhat frustrating. They’re altogether a pretty exciting band that seems to have a lot to offer the modern music world.

Sea Wolf – Get To The River EP

Sea Wolf is a brand new musical creation from Los Angeles and is ultimately Alex Church, who is not only Sea Wolf’s songwriter and singer but also the band’s only invariable member. Sea Wolf’s debut release “Get To The River Before It Runs Too Low” – EP is five tracks of energized slow-paced acoustic-based brilliance. Great things are bound to come of Church’s entrancing songwriting so this is a good EP to get a hold of.
