Modest Mouse – We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank

Modest Mouse formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington by guitarist Isaac Brock. These guys gained a lot of popularity with their last release “Good News For People Who Love Bad News” and have now created an extremely triumphant follow up entitled “We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank”. Johnny Marr of The Smiths joined Isaac and his usual bandmates for the recording of this new CD and James Mercer of The Shins also adds some backup vocals to a few of the tracks. This is album is wonderful in the sense that Modest Mouse changes up their style for a few of the songs without loosing their special Isaac quality. This CD should be everything a Modest Mouse fan could ask for, and if it’s not then I’m sure there will be someone else out there to like it for you.

Ted Leo & The Pharmacists – Living With The Living

Ted Leo is a classy songwriter from Washington D.C. Ted Leo’s three piece rock group Ted Leo & The Pharmacists are not given as much credit as they deserve, these guys have been writing some of the best rock sounds around these days and continue to do so with their new release “Living With The Living”. This music has a timeless feeling to it and should be able to touch the hearts of many music lovers. This guy is the real deal, give it a listen.

Low – Drums And Guns

Low is a classic indie rock group from Duluth, Minnesota, and makes the hippest slow-paced music around. Formed back in 1993 these guys are pioneers of the indie music style many new age bands are trying desperately to replicate. “Drums And Guns” is as original as music comes and as catchy as it is slow, if that makes any sense.

I’m From Barcelona – Let Me Introduce My Friends

I'm from Barcelona is an indie-pop act from Jönköping, Sweden, and they are seriously insane. There are a total of 29 band members; I don’t understand how that would be humanly possible. This release “Let Me Introduce My Friends” is their very first and it sounds like a group of people getting together and making a musical party, 29 people to be exact. This is wonderful stuff and as happy as can be and as multi-instrumental as you could ever want in a modern
band.
